Powerful
Oct 2019 • Friends
Spent some time at this powerful piece of architecture / history! It has had some renovation in the past. You can visit this at any time, it's free, and is a must visit, it backs on to a park that you can chill out on.

Worth a stroll by
Sep 2019
This gate is on the edge of a park, very close to Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist where the Holy Shroud is housed. Free to see and worth a photo op.

Impressive Roman structure near market
Sep 2019
On the edge of the old town of Turin, not far from the market is the Palatine gate. It is vast and has been well restored. Large towers linked by a high curtain wall with arched gateways in brick indicate how important this was in Roman times. Well worth he slight detour. And it i frees it stands on a roadway!

Not prio 1 but it deserves a visit
Apr 2019 • Couples
And if you are there, you have also the Duomo close by and you can combine them. After than the square of 4 Marzo is also close and you can get yourself a meal or a drink.

Very beautiful building of Roman period
Sep 2018 • Family
Porta Palatina (Palatina's door in English) is a building of Roman period. It is located in Parco Archeologico, in the center of Torino, a city in the North of Italy. In fact, it is one of the four Roman doors to enter to the city (pitifully, nowadays only there are two of them). You can go here with children, because it is located in a park. So it is a very interesting place for families, you can see the place and your children can play a lot.

One of the most interesting roman gates
Feb 2018 • Solo
The beautifully preserved Palatine Gate, the northern ancient roman gates that lead into the city, is one of the most interesting and beautiful roman gates. It still has the roman road still partly running under it and an archaeological area with the Roman theatre around it.

Nice corner to rest and chill
Sep 2018 • Solo
Walked there for miles... thinking is a big old castle at the end is just a bit that still on... the good part is a nice part in there to seat, chill, eat, take the dogs.

As a piece of history is fantastic shame is only small part remaining.
The entrance is free if you are good taking artistic pictures this is the place or location to do a nice job.

Roman roots of Torino
Mar 2018 • Couples
There is very little of Roman architecture left in Torino, but the Porta Palatina is an excellent example. Well maintained.

FASCINATING STRUCTURE
Feb 2018 • Solo
This is a remarkable structure that looks somewhat out of place in the city. However, this is also what gives it it's appeal and charm. It is a terracotta style brick ruin with two small turrets and various square and arch shaped lookouts. At the bottom it has two large and two small arch walkways. Worth seeing as it's next door to the Duomo.
