However, its interior is well worth a visit. The site is credited with a miracle purportedly during the war between the Savoys and the Royal family of France. The current church was built at the site of an earlier chapel, starting in 1607. The facade is supported by four large columns, each capped by statues of saints and angels. The single-nave interior is richly decorated: paintings, sculptures, statues, stucco work and stone carvings.…

Really ornate Baroque church just a few steps away from city hall. I stopped in while on a tour and my guide told us that the church is known for a miracle involving the levitation of the Eucharist after some people plundered another church. As you might expect from a Baroque church, it’s heavily gilded on the inside, which makes it well worth a look.…
