About
The Accorsi - Ometto Museum, open to the public in Dicember 1999, hosts the polished collection of Pietro Accorsi, one of the most important European antique dealers of the 20th century. The Museum is conceived as a home-museum elegantly furnished, in accordance with the antique dealer's taste and the sensibility of Giulio Ometto, his longstanding collaborator and President of the Foundation. The 27 rooms of the museum, reconstructed with extraordinary richness, recreate a refined home of the eighteenth century, where furniture and objects are fitted into an ancient setting to each other. Among the many masterpieces held, the collection includes the secretaire-cabinet in rare wood with ivory and tortoiseshell made in 1738 by Pietro Piffetti, considered certainly "one of the most beautiful piece of furniture in the world".

A intimate collection of beautiful decorative art works
Feb 2020
Truly an art collector's collection - the crystals, porcelains, silverware and furniture pieces were chosen by Mr Accorsi and purchased with much devotion to beauty, heritage n rarity. It helped that we were loaned an English guide book to follow the hour-long Italian-only guided tour through 20+ rooms each with a special theme - this way, we were able to maximise our time n read within the guide book whatever artwork that stood out. Check for guided tour timing to avoid waiting too long. Situated just off Via Po.

A nice small Museum of the decorative arts
Sep 2019
Covers the decorative arts of the last 300 years in Europe through displays of different household rooms. Needs more captions and descriptions. Rather a lot of duplication.

A personal tour by default - good fun even though guide knew no English.

If you do venture to this small and lovely museum - do not miss the restaurant Marimisti right next door! This museum is on the Torino & Piedmonte Card - a must purchase if you are in Turin for 3+ days. You only need one hour here and you must be guided through it. The guides speak no English however you are given a few pages which offer the highlights in English to read along with your guide. Our guide was a lovely, elderly gentlemen and since it was just the two of us plus him, we were able to have a good time trying to understand each other. The fine decorate items and furniture were outstanding. You are allowed to take photographs. And for only 1 Euro can bring home a box of their matches. A great museum to visit enroute to the River Po.

Loved this little museum. Welcoming guides who did their best to help you and were very informative despite the language barrier. Beautiful house and art work - a MUST to see

Interesting mix of exhibits

This private museum is included in the Torino museum card and worth seeing as part of your tour. You cannot tour alone and have to be accompanied by a guide, with tours on the hour and half hour. As I was entirely alone, the guide spoke in English, but normally the tours are in Italian. There's a lot to see, ranging from rooms packed with china to others with crystal, to others with snuff boxes. Every room is unique, but many are set as they would have been for the Savoy family. However, they are recreations. The Savoy family never lived here.

Nice collection - requires a guided visit
Dec 2016 • Couples
One can only visit this collection of various decorative objects with a guide. We were lucky that there was an English-speaking guide when we visited and she gave us a private tour. Photography was prohibited, hence no interior photos are attached. Buy your tickets at the ticket office in the courtyard, then cross the courtyard and go up the steps to meet the guide.

lovely and glamorous interiors!
Oct 2016 • Solo
It is lovely collection of household elements, which reflects richness and vibrant lifestyle of several centuries!

you allowed to walk around with guide and need to know some Italian, or ask for English reading material.

Be prepared that some rooms will remind you some palace interiors!

Exquisite

A marvellous collection of gorgeous objects are on view over a multitude of lovely rooms. The palace provides a grand showcase for the pieces.

The priceless exhibits cover the full gamut from precious metalwork, porcelain, glass. ivory, to furniture and paintings. All a delight to see.

A temporary exhibition on art related to putti starting from the Baroque period was also worth having a look at.

This building of the XVII Century is really special. Near piazza Vittorio Emanuele is on Via Po. It's a museum of Decorative Art. Very interesting the collections and well exposed! You cannot miss it if you love art and inside the museum you could be in Vienna!

Decorative Art and Cherubs!
Mar 2016 • Solo
I went to this museum to see the special exhibit on cherubs, which was lovely. I took the tour of the rest of the museum, which was in Italian, and the only way you are permitted to view the exhibit. I was given an English printed guide to help. I do not know if I will visit this museum again, but I am glad I went.
