Where magic embraces you
May 2019 • Solo
More than just a theatre experience, it was a plunge into magic, history and beauty.
Enormous theatre, quite full but able to manage crowds without queuing.
Super spacious and free cloakroom
It was like repeating the theatre ceremony of the 19th century and the show was super
A thrilling and precious memory of my stay in Turin

the situation near the famous Scala in Milano is not easy but the theatre has an exzellent image and offers for pedestrians walking by stimulating sound samples

Modern hall
Oct 2017 • Friends
Modern buiding. Very large foyer, with stairs il all directions. The hall its offers most seats on the parterre, without balconies. As the orchestra pit is wide, even the front seats are quite far from the opera singers. Comfortable seats. Very good acoustics. Booking through the web cumbersome.

Opera Carmen - fantastic voices
Jul 2016 • Couples
Modern production with sparse set & nearly zero 'costume'. That said the singing, which lets face it this is what you're here for, was beyond superb! Although it was sung in French with Italian & French subtitles.
The acoustics are excellent in this modern interior, with very comfortable seating. Two bars available on the first floor serving food & drink before the performance & during the interval You can also pre-order for the interval. You pre pay before then getting your purchases at the bar.

A magical afternoon at the opera
May 2016 • Solo
What a stunning, modern opera house -- great acoustics, nice staff, gorgeous location on the Piazza Castello and some superb singing. I heard a matinee of Lucia di Lammermoor and was impressed by the excellence of the orchestra and the chorus, the principals were very, very good indeed and the production was attractive and effective. Great lighting design. I really appreciated the surtitles, too -- in both Italian and English. The midweek matinee is a very good value and I had a little box all to myself which was extremely comfortable. I would suggest not choosing a box any closer than six from the stage -- I was sixth from the stage on the house right side and there were things happening on stage left that I couldn't see. Didn't bother me unduly, but it's a fact.

Delightful evening

The opera house in the center of Turin was excellent! A Very talented cast together with good production values. Although the modern building is not a classical gem as in many other cities in Europe, the acoustics are fine and the seats are very comfortable.

Much enjoyed opera and orchestra experiences by Teatro Regio di Torino
Mar 2016 • Couples
The Teatro Regio di Torino participated in the Hong Kong Arts Festival this year, providing a handful of opera and symphony performances that were very enjoyable to watch at our local HK Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The opera production of Verdi's Simon Boccanegra was smashing, a very enjoy performance. In addition to the lead vocals, we enjoyed stage sets during the later Part 2 and 3 as well as the supporting role of the orchestra, which played superbly throughout the story. All in all, this was a very enjoyable opera experience.

We were also treated to an evening hearing the Teatro Regio Torino orchestra performance of Verdi's Requiem, which was nothing short of world class. Conducted by the acclaimed Gianandrea Noseda, the orchestra seemed to really own Requiem and produced Verdi's masterpiece marvellously.

This was just musical harmony between the choir and instrumental sections with exquisite performances by the lead vocals. We really enjoyed hearing the soprano and tenor in particular. Conductor Noseda was quite animated in his management of Requiem as well. He seems to love this piece and so did his orchestra on the night. We loved hearing them play! They were nothing short of superb on the evening.

In the end, we felt very fortunate to have Teatro di Torino here in Hong Kong and greatly appreciated the opportunity to see them perform in our home city.

A renewed opera house
Jul 2015 • Couples
The original opera house had a glorious history but it unfortunately came to an end in 1936 when the old building was destroyed. Not re-built for some years, the interior is now an excellent modern opera house.
Good design, plenty of space, very comfortable seating and we saw a good production.
If you want to have a drink in the interval then I recommend that you pay before the start of the performance so that you can then queue directly with your receipt at the bar in the interval.
I found the online ticket purchase system very straightforward and my tickets were ready for collection in the foyer during the hour before the performance, no need to go to the box office.

to the theatre!
Jul 2015 • Solo
I've been to this theater to watch the magic flute, la boheme, and the barber of seville. Outstanding quality of work in all 3 productions, the theater is beautifully built with amazing acoustics (singers and orchestra are un-'mic'ed) but also beautiful architecture. ushers are friendly and helpful. A lot of the people attending know how to behave at the theater and so visitors must be aware of these rules!
