The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Absolutely not miss this experience
Mar 2018 • Friends
I did it in 2004 and then I discovered a parallel world made of mental images. Images that live in our own brains that have not difference with the images processed by our own eyes. You'll discover how an impairment could become a resource. Trust me, you'll be disappointed. And you'll give a great help to visual impairment community!

Nothing to see... Literally!
Jan 2019 • Friends
My daughter, 10 years, recently took a trip here with her class from school, it was a great experience. You take about 40 minutes "traveling" in different habitats and at the end you get to go to a bar and order... all in the dark! One thing about this place is that there is absolutely NO light, like when you go to sleep. You can feel real plants, cross a bridge, go on a boat, there are even all the sounds you hear when you are actually in that habitat. And of course you get to use a real blind man's stick!

Before starting, a lady came to explain how to use the stick and to tell us what we would be seeing, then we went in a small corridor with barely any light, just little ones near the floor so we could get used to it. we then got to a room with a little less amount of light than in the corridor, where our guide Chiara was waiting. Told us a little more about it, and then they turned off the lights. PITCH BLACK. TOTAL DARKNESS. Tip: it's better not to scream or shout; remember that all the staff is blind, though it doesn't seem like it. Also, when they turn off the lights, if you have a little kid, try to hold their hand or something to make sure they don't get lost.

The first thing we saw was a jungle, sound of birds in the background, we had to cross a bridge in the dark, it is really difficult at first but you get used to it in the end. Your'e only reference is the guide's voice: you have to try to walk towards them. I'm not going to go into 2 much detail.

The second thing we "saw" was the boat dock, where we actually got on a real boat! Don't worry, you can't fall off😂! it's totally protected.

After we went into a house and stood around a table, the guide passed out some things in a box and we had to understand what they were, I'm not going to say what they were of course...

The next place was the city, our group stopped at a market but I heard that another group tried to pass a ball to each other in the dark by calling out the person's name. I personally would have loved to do that. Another group told me they climbed up a volcano too... I now realize that we did it too when we were going to the house, but she didn't say what it was.

The last place was the bar where we ordered a drink, I read on some other reviews there was someone playing the piano... wonder why we didn't have one. When we finished we came back in the room from the beginning, make sure you keep your eyes half closed at first because it will be a shock going back into the light.

In the whole, it was a great experience and I would love to go again, especially since I heard people did other things too. There was also a boy who had broken his leg, so they gave him a wheelchair and pushed him along, which I think was great. I would recommend this even for younger children, because the guide never lets you out of her "sight" and all you have to do is call out and they will stop and call back so you can understand where they are. However if you are afraid of the dark do NOT go it is pitch black you can't even see your own nose!

To us this was average, I would probably spend time else where if I was in Milan than here. Milan has much more to offer, this fell below our expectation

blind sited!
May 2018 • Solo
I did not attend this one in Milan, however, I did in Genoa. It was a real eye opener as to what life as a blind person must be like. It is an experience, not a museum. I appreciate my sight much more.

You Become a Blind Person at Dialogo nel Buio Just By Staying in Total Darkness to Arouse the inner Senses.
Aug 2017 • Friends
Dialogo nel Buio is an extraordinary way to live 40 minutes like a blind person assisted by blind person that will guide you through different rooms where you will feel how it can be to be in the middle of the street, in a garden or in a restaurant without the possibility of looking around. It's an extremely educational experience of moving, walking and eating in total darkness in order to share this experience with blind people.
Being in total darkness for over than one hour and depend only on your other senses was an incredible way to get at least a little understanding of challenges being blind. But our guide said that we are not trying blind person's shoes, we only spending time in total darkness. It is really interesting how the other senses become so powerful and useful, when you can only count on them because the vision sense is out of you (and it is the dominating sense that overshadows others.)
We walked for an hour long path in total darkness where you visit different rooms and your other senses are stimulated.
It is the most extraordinary experience ever.
We were greeted by a guide who explained us how everything would go: first we would enter a room which would get darker bit by bit to get our eyes used to the dark. Then a blind guide would take us for the rest of the tour in different rooms with different senses, guessing where we are and what are the things that are surround us.
The tour finished in a cafe with blind waiters as well! It was something unbelievable, the sensation you get when you actually cannot see absolutely anything and have to follow only the
voice of the guide that was really something extraordinary. You would understand their needs much better and learn not to take anything for granted.
You are arousing your emotion and a new way to experience reality through the absence of sight in this tour. From the very moment we entered the dark area, we were always accompanied by a sightless person who led us to a place with tables and chairs.
Someone was playing the piano in the darkness. We sat and had our drink with nuts and chips and talked to each other, simply seeing nothing at all.
It was a very unique experience. You will go through many different environments, I don't want to spoil, but all of them are very different.
If you go to Milan, don't miss this amazing opportunity, I mean it!

A fantastic experience
Dec 2016 • Couples
My partner and I were lucky to have such a fantastic and unique experience during our short stay in Milan. We did the Percorso + Aperativo nel Buio on a Friday evening.

I speak Italian but my partner only speaks English. I explained this over the phone when I made the booking, and they told me that this was fine as long as I was able to keep him informed of what was happening during the experience.

We were told to arrive at 6:30pm for a 7pm start, and when we arrived we were assigned to a group of about eight people that began at about 6:50pm. We walked through a series of rooms together that were designed to resemble everyday environments, but in pitch black. It was an extremely interesting and challenging learning experience.

Our guide Mauro was fantastic and made a special effort to make us feel included. He even threw in some English for my partner even though I was translating. The other people in the group were also very friendly and accommodating of us.

After that, we went straight to the bar and had a Cafenoir house cocktail and some crisps in the dark with another couple from our group. The atmosphere was great, with live piano and a lot of chatter and singing, completely in the dark. The cocktail was also delicious.

Overall it was a fantastic evening and I would highly recommend giving this a go if you are at all able to. Thank you very much Mauro, it was great to meet you.

"Eye opening" experience
Oct 2015 • Couples
We had an aperitif and then dinner at this place to try something different. It was a revealing experience. I felt panic half the time when I was not distracted by a conversation and it really got me thinking about how hard it must be, particularly for someone who was not born blind, to live in a world where if you don't see it is really hard to do too many things. The food was not great, but that is not really the point of this place. Service is excellent though, the waiters/waitresses are always trying to please you and really show you how they can take care of things you couldn't even imagine. I would recommend this experience at least once in a lifetime to everyone, maybe start with the aperitif first as it can be scary, but the dinner gives you a better feeling, and you appreciate small things more after this.
