The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Architectural passage from Mannerism to Baroque
Jan 2021 • Solo
Beautiful church built in 1601 on previous church built by Barnabiti of 9th century.
The scenographic facade dominated the small square with two superbe bell towers and several statues and bas-reliefs.
The internal is made on shape of Greek Cross with central dome .
Several beautiful paintings can be seen on altars made by Lombard artist like Procaccini , Crespi and Ossana

VAST CHURCH SET IN LOVELY LITTLE SQUARE
Sep 2018 • Solo
This church is enormous inside and outside. There are steps leading up to it's front doors from a small quaint square but once inside it is awesome. Huge domes show off it's elaborate ceiling with gigantic pillars and vast alcoves that align both sides of the aisle. There are lovely murals that decorate it's walls along with large paintings and detailed figurines.

More than another church
May 2018 • Couples
We stumbled upon this church while walking the area around the Duomo. There is a nice small green park outside with many younger people sitting on the ground.
Nice church to walk around with a great altar, statues and paintings.
About 2 blocks southeast of the Duomo.

Striking looking Baroque church on the outside and richly decorated on the interior.
Aug 2017 • Couples
This large church is located in amongst the backstreets about 600 metres south of the Piazza del Duomo. The church was largely built during the 17th century on a Greek Cross plan with a central nave, two side aisles, a central dome and two separate sacristries either side of the apse and main altar. The facade, which was added to in the 18th century, is very wide with two campaniles (both bell and clock towers), one at either end of the building and Corinthian columns in between.

Internally the church’s main altar, 8 side chapels, cupola and other domes are richly decorated in marble, gilt and totally covered in frescoes. There are also some beautiful paintings and stained glass windows.

The church is said to be built on the site of the old prisons where St Andrew was imprisoned.

Worth a visit.

The impressive baroque church
Aug 2017 • Couples
The impressive baroque church was built in the early 17th century as a part of Barnabite College at the site of the ancient place of worship. The expression “Zebedia” is derived from the name of one of the judges of the Roman Praetorian prison that stood here and where Sant’Alessandro was imprisoned. There are some very important frescoes and paintings inside that are worth visiting.

Beautiful Church
Aug 2017 • Solo
This church is beyond beautiful and reflects the wonderful architecture of the 17th century. I've been there this morning and I felt the warmth and spirituality as I was starting my new day.

One of the best-looking baroque churches of XVII'th century. It has a prominent facade and unfortunatelly was closed during our visit.

Beautiful church
Dec 2016 • Couples
This is not very old church having being built in the 17th century. However, inside it is quite beautiful and ornate with extensive use of marble. The ceilings are painted and the altar has likenesses of 6 saints. It is a short walk from central piazza at the Duomo.
