We concentrated on the Late Bronze Age and Iron Age grave finds from Como's pre-Roman version SW of the current town. Don't miss this if you're into the period, but you'd better read some Italian because the English textual content is just a few laminated sheets of paper for all visitors to share.

We spent an excellent couple of hours here. my archaeologist husband was impressed by it.
There were some really wonderful exhibits.
Certainly to be recommended.
My only criticism is it had a sort of one way system; I was too tired to manage the whole place but to have returned to see the rooms we missed we would have had to walk through all the rooms.

Very much impressed with the prehistoric and Roman era exhibits.

Each room has cards in multiple languages to assist in understanding the exhibits.

I found the information on Como history 1850 to present poorly presented especially WWII era.

I love archeological museums and seeing ancient civilizations pieced together, and this one was well worth a visit. Personally, I'm happy just to look and enjoy, but I must mention that for those who like detailed explanations, most of the info was only in Italian.

It was a rainy day in Como and this museum was on my list of things to see anyway. I should have just purchased a ticket for this museum, but I thought I would have a chance to see the other two that came with a more comprehensive ticket. So it cost 8 euros. What I didn't know was that access to the Tempio Voltanio was closed because of some activity scheduled for later in the week.Bottom line: Just buy the ticket for this museum, not the package deal. It is worth seeing and it's in a beautiful renaissance palazzo.

It's a museum...what else is there to say?

Went there for a visit to find out a bit more about Como. As museums go it's about average, boring in parts but interesting in others. It's not something I would do again. It costs 4 euros to enter and the building is very confusing and you go all over the place looking at the various things. Unfortunately you couldn't go into the garden which looked the best bit. Maybe they open it in the summer? If they don't they're missing a trick as it would be a nice attraction.

Amazing collection of antiquities and local history. Much larger than we expected with a great textile exhibit.
