We have been using them for a few days and once you get the hang of the schedules (like the trains) it’s a very decent way to travel from town to town. Take the slow boat down to Como (about 2 hours) and you stop...More

Excellent way to get everyplace you want to go. Lines can be a bit long at the ticket window. Much, much easier to get passes for the amt of time you will be there. Generally very much on time. Couldn't have lived without it.

We used the ferry extensively during our stay in Lecco. Its cheap, convenient and picturesque. A trip to Bellagio takes about an hour and a half, with half a dozen stops on the way. Ferries are busy, but worth it. Its worth simply taking the...More

We started queuing for fast ferry tickets and after almost 20 minutes we reached the ticket window just as the second window of 3 opened. The queue was 50 people long. Window opened to a hand being slapped on the counter. You can only buy...More

Slow local service or faster hydrofoil---it is your choice. The faster boat costs about 5 euro more one way to go to Bellagio, but is worth it if you are in a hurry. Be sure to double check the schedule, it can be a bit...More

A great way to spend a day, just sitting back and enjoying the beautiful views. Good service at cafe, minimal time wasted at the stops and easy to embark and disembark. Varenna a good lunch stop. Recommend for any age group.

Nice boats for a sightseeing on the lake. However you shall expect long waiting for speed boats, they do not keep their schedule.

While staying in Como we relied on the ferries over four days. We found the service very reliable, easy to access and staff very helpful. There are two types of ferries (fast and slow). From our Grand Hotel Imperiale at village of Moltrasio we were...More

We used a middle lake day pass to travel between Varenna, Bellagio and Managgio. The ferries doing this middle lake circuit are frequent and the vehicle ferry can be used as well. Using different types of ferry helps to move around at times that suit...More

Efficient services. Choice of fast and slow services (price reflective). Slow boat has a bar on board. The Colico - Como route pretty much connects all towns. We are staying in Domaso and have been able to visit everywhere we have wanted. The boats have...More

My #1 suggestion for a clear day is the Argegno-Pigra funicular in Argegno for spectacular mountaintop views of the lake both north and south. It can take less than 2 hours so you have time to do other things too. Second... More
