In fact, it is best to walk around the walls and enjoy the air and the landscape before entering the Old City. Just look at the lower city and reflect as if a city was built here in a city

the walls are a UNESCO heritage site (building started in16th century) and are well worth a visit. I couldn't, but apparently you can walk all the way round them. amazing that they are so well preserved

After a good food in Citta Alta you have to take a stroll here. The view from Mura Venete is great. You can see the whole city and more underneath.

I live in Como, just 70 km away from Bergamo but I had never been considering to visit it. Bergamo is really nice and the Mura Veneziane are really great. They were built in XVI century when Venezia was competing with Milan for pianura padana...More

You must take a stroll around these roads and enjoy the far away beautiful views of the city of Bergamo and surrounding mountains .

Was here on a day trip and took bus 1a up to the old town and had a wonderful time going around there also at this place. Nice view and good time for the memory book if You go to Bergamo dont miss this. Sitting...More

Good place for walking or rest in weekend. A lot of cafe and restaurant here. Sun and good mood are you need only.

Great views of the city of Bergamo, you can take the 1 bus to the upper funicular or walk the ancient cobbled streets and walls. Best views.

A spectacular historic upper city that is very easy to navigate. There is pretty much something interesting to see and to explore at every corner. Not a typical tourist destination so fighting the crowds was not an issue in September. It’s no wonder no enemy...More
