Couldn't believe how rundown poor Viale XX Settembre had become since I first saw it in 1974. All the charm and quirkiness has gone, shops are empty or stock dime-a-dozen goods. Very disappointing.

This is where the locals go to drink coffee and Aperol (separately), enjoy ice cream, eat Indian or Chinese food and generally hang out in the shade of tall buildings and trees. There are also some cool bars. The restaurants and cafés in this area...More

I simply love walking trough this street. Fall and summer is my favourite time off year to visit it. In the morning perfect place to have coffee in the evening you can go out to one of many bar's located there. And you can find...More

This straight path is quiet, walkable and laden with trees. It's a nice walk specially in summer when you want some shade. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors. If you are going towards the sea, take this route.

If you're looking for a place to walk in the city that is not in the direct sunlight. Overall the street is dirty, the buildings are dirty, but nice to walk under the shade trees. It's a local hangout as well.

But in three months, only two things were worth going back to : lunch at Erica, tiny place with excellent home made sandwiches and draft beer; and a Christmas market glove vendor - made in Italy gloves in every design and color combination one could...More

Well, if you like ice cream, this is the place to go. All day, every day the Triestini eat gelati on Viale Venti Settembre, after breakfast, after lunch, mid-afternoon and espescially after dinner. Gelateria after gelateria line the tree-shaded avenue. Spoilt for choice? I should...More

After being in Trieste many times i visited this street maybe to see something different but no. It is a nice pedestrian street with trees but nothing really special. It will be nice in the hot summer days perhaps because it is covered from the...More
