Tourist office personnel were efficient and very helpful. I do not have "to write more" to satisfy trip advisor!

In my experience this comment could be made about most of the tourist offices throughout Italy. They do not stock lots of leaflets about events and sites in the area. There is a display cabinet containing about a dozen red coloured leaflets. i asked for them bur was told I could only take 2 at a time; then I discovered that at least 50% are out of print. There is a queuing system. A receptionist asks the nature of your enquiry, you are given a ticket and wait for your number to come up. You will be given a town plan with sites worth seeing highlighted for you, but that is as much as you will get. Ask for more detail and it will be given, but it is up to you to ask the right question and know what to ask. You need to be specific. Not good

Really not very helpful, particularly as they sent us in completely the wrong direction to a small museum!

We met Cristina Fortini, our guide at the tourism office for our private tour. Just my lovely wife and I. We walked all around the old market. Cristina showed us some really great places to shop and get the best deals. She showed us places to get really good balsamic vinegar and arranged a tasting. We bought a 25 year old balsamic vinegar for 99 euros that on amazon was $200. The coolest thing we did though was make pasta. We went to Alessandra Quadruelli’s house, which used to be the church hospital and she showed us how to make 4 types of pasta. I cook almost every day so this was really fun. Then we went upstairs and Alessandra made us lunch from what we made. Plus we hade bread, olive oil and local wine. One of the best times of our trip.

But the third time I was given incorrect info. I asked about the aerobus and the man told me that I could catch it at the train station. I told him that I wanted to catch it on Mille. First he told me that I couldn't and then that the street was closed. (Some streets like Independencia are closed on the weekend to motorized traffic but Mille remains open to motorized traffic.) I told him that I was leaving on a weekday so all streets should be open. He told me that the train station and Mille weren't that far apart so it didn't matter and I should go to the train station. Afterwards I go to Mille and find the aerobus stop practically across the street from my airbnb. I even waited a few minutes to see the aerobus stop there. So if you want to get to the Bologna airport from Mille you can do so.
