A must-visit for Caravaggio fans
Dec 2019
I have spent the last 15 years or so trying to see all of Caravaggio's paintings, so I was thrilled to find out that it was possible to book a tour with the owner of the home to see Caravaggio's only ceiling painting. The princepessa, Rita, gave the tour and she was a lovely and charming host, with a wealth of knowledge of the family and its history.

Looking for a group to visit the Casino
Jun 2018 • Solo
Hello,

I am visiting Rome on July 19th-22nd 2018 and I would like to visit Casino Boncompagni Ludovisi and frescoes by Guercino and Caravaggio.

I have contacted the Casino and they have told me that they are open to the public by reservation for groups minimum of 15 people and the cost is € 20.00 per person. (Input minimum € 300.00). They have no reservation groups between 19th to 22nd July. The hours available are 19th or 20th or 21st July at 11am.

I would like to form a group for one of those days, so if anyone is willing to join, please contact me!

MMany thanks.

Casino Boncompagni Ludovisi / Villa Aurora
Nov 2017 • Friends
We had an amazing tour of the Villa Aurora, also known as the Casino Boncompagni Ludovisi. Make sure to read up before you go: the history of the villa is quite amazing and it is literally packed full of art and history. The tour must be booked in advance and there is a significant fee. The tour (in English) was led by the very gracious wife of the owner, who is extremely knowledgable about the villa and its treasures and is enthusiastic to share her love of the villa with others. There are multiple reasons to visit this villa, starting with the Aurora ceiling by Guercino, which gives its name to the house. The highlight is the Caravaggio ceiling in the tiny alchemy room. But, there are many other treasures both inside and outside the house. A marvelous and unusual visit.
