I recommend this tour wholeheartedly to anyone who is interested in finding a truly unique and authentic experience during their time in Rome. Micaela is not only a wealth of information on Rome's Jewish history, she is incredibly well connected with the surrounding community. As such her tours are enriched by this intersection of historical knowledge and authentic experience. Also though Micaela's tours are well-planned, don't be surprised if you run into and chat with locals all along the way. Those who live in the neighborhood are always happy to speak with Micaela in a way that truly makes her tours feel unlike any other!

Saturday April 17th 2021 I took part to a guided tour around Rome’s Jewish neighborhood (commonly said “Ghetto”, but Jewish people prefer to call it “Piazza”) lead by Micaela Pavoncello. The tour was sold out since a month and half, when I finally got my place. Micaela narrates the Rome Jewish people story from their arrival in Rome in 139 B.C. to modern times. Her voice expresses passion and personal involvement as only a Jewish community member can do. Whatever you think about Jewish people history, choices and personality, go to hear their bi-millennial history in Rome from a passionate guide belonging to their community.

I saw a wonderful virtual presentation by Sara Pavoncello of romankoshertours in NYC at the JCC. This was the most informative presentation from a historical yet personal point of view that I have ever seen or heard. I felt that I was in Roma. I am sure that her in person tours show her knowledge and commitment as well.THE BEST EVER PRESENTATION!!!

Wow! Micaela brings together passion, history and inside knowledge about the Jewish community of Rome. We had the most marvelous virtual tour of Jewish Rome throughout the ages. She is a gem. We can't wait to book a cooking class with Micaela! We didn't want our time together to end. What a special person and an incredible experience to be with her!
