The area
Address
Neighborhood: Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

This apartment is in the heart of trastevere.
I've been coming to Rome 17 years, And I always rent an apartment. This , by far, has been the best. It's like being home. Anything you could ever need or want, Is in this apartment. I highly recommend it, the owners are amazing. And I will come back here every time I'm in Rome❤❤❤

a great special experience
Apr 2017 • Business
Booked witj Julie for 14 people, lunch, for a company weekend in Rome.
Started witj a short visit to the market and a cooking class after.
Julie was great, everyone loved her (and English is not our first language).
The class was a lot of fun and really doing "something different" in the city.

Highlight Dinner from recent trip to Rome
Apr 2017 • Family
I have traveled to Rome alot over the years and this spring we took some family members there and we wanted a cooking class experience to be our highlight dinner of out trip.
WOW!!! It was Incredible. It far exceeded my expectations. I have done a cooking class in Barcelona a couple of years ago and this one with Break Bread set the bar for the ultimate experience in cooking
We learned how to cook the perfect meal. We all now know how to make pasta, Ravioli, and to make a full course meal.
Carlos and Serena were Fantastic. They are the perfect duo.
I can Highly recommend and can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
of course, you do get to enjoy some wine while your learning to cook.
The food, of course, was Incredibly Delicious !!!!

This was such a special experience! We traveled to Italy with another couple, and they gave us this class as a wedding gift. It was so magical! The venue was beautiful and came with a gorgeous view, the hosts were so personable, and the food was wonderful. I highly highly recommend taking a class with them. This was our second cooking class of the trip and far exceeded the first!

Our cooking class at Breaking Bread was an amazing experience! Our chefs Carlo & Gianluca were very helpful and taught us a delicious meal, while making the evening fun and enjoyable. It was great that we learned not only to make homemade pasta, but a variety of dishes while drinking great wine! Would recommend this class to anyone! Delicious food, and wonderful company!

Really good if you want to do something a bit different

So much fun. There was a strong focus on working together to put together what was probably one of the best meals I have had in Rome in the whole 3 months I have been here. Ingredients were high quality, completely fresh, and the very generous amounts of prosecco and wine didn't hurt either!

Absolutely amazing cooking class!

Our experience at breaking bread was absolutely wonderful. By far my favorite meal in Rome! The setting was more beautiful than I could have imagined, and the ingredients were all seasonal and incredibly fresh. Serena and Carlo were great teachers and chefs, and had an amazing ability to communicate as well as sense of humor. Our menu included making focaccia, pesto, ravioli, fettuccine, chicken with olives and peppers, and panna cotta. It was all very simple once broken down, and our whole group had a lot of fun! Could not imagine a more beautiful (and delicious) experience or more gracious teachers!

Evening Cooking Class with Breaking Bread
Mar 2016 • Friends
Can’t recommend the experience my friend and I had with the Breaking Bread cooking class in Rome. Serena and Carlos were wonderful teachers, the environment was fun and relaxed and best of all the menu. We were hands on making focaccia, ravioli, artichokes, panna cotta and more... we left full and very happy with the experience. Looking forward to booking another class soon!

Highlight of our trip to Rome!
Mar 2016 • Friends
My friend and I, both Americans, were spending a few days in Rome and wanted to do a cooking class. We were referred by Katie Parla to Breaking Bread, and it was perfect, where we make our dinner and enjoy it for an evening. There were only 2 of us, and Chef Carlo and Serena made it such a personal and cozy experience, so much that I felt I could do the same at home (which I did!). Really a fantastic experience, and a must do with Breaking Bread!
