This piazza is unique with the Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere. The church is big and awesome. You have to visit for sure.

Ignore the rather staid and undistinguished exterior. The delights are to be found inside with some of the most wonderful mosaics available. No charge for entry. Just be respectful and quiet. Not to be missed.

There is a fountain in the middle, very large. All around are cafes, restaurants and shops. you can easily spend an hour here plus have lunch of dinner. Or people watch at a cafe and nurse a coffee.

Nice square next to the church in Trastevere. There are many cafes and cheap restaurants around. Here it is relatively calm.
