My family and I recently visited Rome for 3 nights. One of the things on our list of must-sees was Vatican City. Being that it is a place with so much history and culture, we knew we needed to have a guide. After reading some reviews on tripadvisor, I booked our tour with Michael of HM Tours, http://www.hm-tours.com/. He was wondering. He shared so much information to us in a way that was fun and managed to get keep us engaged. He was also very thoughtful in dealing with our group, which consisted of a kids and disabled persons. The Vatican Museums were amazing! There is so much great works of art, so much history there. Sistine Chapel was beautiful but I was underwhelmed by it. Partly, this is due to the great expectations I had. Also, I found it offputting that the attendants there kept clapping their hands and yelling for silence. I thought it was ironic that they made so much noise in trying to enforce the "silence policy." I would definitely come back and look forward to seeing more of the museums. I would definitely book another tour with Michael. Hurry and do it as he had told me this would be his last year in Rome.

We are now back home in Chicago and can now report that one of the highlights of our family's trip to Rome and Italy was the 3.5 hour tour of the Vatican with Hannah from H-M Tours. We were concerned that our teenage daughters would be bored with any tour, but Hannah was the perfect guide for our family. She was charming, informative, personable, energetic, young, and Austrailian. She knew when to push on and when to call for a short break. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed her and the tour of the Vatican, and I am sure that they certainly would not have enjoyed it had we just walked through ourselves. We are not very religious, so I was concerned that the Vatican tour would be not be relevant or interesting. However, because of Hannah and because the Vatican has the second biggest collection of art in the world (I think), the tour was fascinating. I would highly recommend her.
