There is so much to see in this area, 79 AD when Vesuvius erupted and buried an entire city of industrious citizens, senators, and slaves. So much history... a definite must see.

Took excursion from cruise ship, very long line up to get in, only had 1 hr. 45 min. to literally run around, only saw maybe a 1/3. Would go back and spend a whole day and would pay to skip the line.

We took a guided tour through a small portion of Pompeii. While it was great to have someone explain everything, the group was large, our itinerary was pre-set, and time was limited. This city itself is so much larger than I ever imagined, and it...More
