We visited the spa today, the only thing stopping a 5 star review is the price. The spa itself is very good and well thought out, the steam room is as hot as I could manage. The foot pools were amazing after walking round Naples for a few hours. Well worth the visit but 70 Euros each is high.

This chic wellness spa located within the Romeo Hotel is an absolute gem! And the experience was the best jet lag cure ever as for 3-4 hours I immersed myself in steam rooms, himalayan saunas, hot and cold pool plus a beautifully delivered warm oil himalayan salt scrub and ginger oil massage.Yummy! Aside from the facilities, it was the nurturing therapist and staff that really took the spa to another level - they also have a kids club (and offer fun kids treatments) and gym on this same level so the spa actually caters very well to families. I am obsessed about their himalayan salt relaxation lounge - such a great idea. I will definitely be back.

You are right when you said that it has been the best cure for your Jet lag because the best cure for the body is a relaxed mind. And we can say that the Dogana del Sale is a beautiful place to clean and renovate the mind. Best regards

Today, I visited the Romeo Hotel spa for a pedicure and hot stone massage. First, they mixed up the reservation times, and put the pedicure first. When I pointed out that my polish would be messed up by the massage afterwards, the girl told me not to worry. Then, when my pedicure was set to start (15 minutes late), I again said, should I do the massage first, since it's scheduled 15 minutes from now? Again, no, because this time, the stones weren't hot enough yet. So, I went and had what I thought was a pretty decent pedicure, until the girl painted my nails and left about half of each nail unpainted around the edges. But, by this time I was eager to get it over with, so I waited, thinking they'd wait a half hour or so before taking me to the massage room. Again, no. Then I get to the massage room, and find that the table had no head cradle, so I had to spent the entire massage with my head turned to the side. Not the best position when you want them to work on your neck and back. But, I needn't have worried. She didn't touch my neck, and barely worked on my back. Instead, she spent a huge amount of time on my arms and legs, and then to top it off, slathered my face in scented massage oil before proceeding to rub it all over my face. Who does that? By the time, I was ready to jump off the table and walk out, because it was clear that this woman had never given a massage in her life. And did I mention my toenails stuck to the towel during the massage and my nail polish was ruined? Then, in an effort to redeem the experience, I tried the spa, but found that the much touted "salt room" -- hell, it's in the name of the spa!-- was closed, and all they had open were saunas and hot tubs with no jets. When I went to take a shower to wash off the globs of massage oil I had all over me, I found that they don't supply soap. Ugh. I live in Naples, so I just wanted to get in my car and go home to take a shower. But, then I had to wait 15 minutes (!) for the valet to get my car, and then charge me 7 euro for the privilege. I could have flushed 200 euros down the drain and gotten better value for the money than I did today. What a disappointment.

Dear Naplesexpat, Thank you for reviewing our SPA. We are sorry that your experience at Dogana del Sale was not satisfactory, though we can hardly recognize our wellness center from your catastrophic description! Nevertheless, we would be grateful if you could give us one more chance, because our standards are much far from the ones you described. Kindest regards.
