The best thing do when you arrive on Capri
Aug 2020 • Couples
Antonio Alfano. Best guy on the island!
From Napoli, he's a typical Italian. Funny and loud speaking...Professional. He gave us very good advises and his special map to avoid beeing fined by police. Capri has a lot of rules even with a scooter.
We loved him!
Don't trust people who tell this is a scam....They don't understand how to travel and how to manage "real man" interactions.

We had no problem and without his service Capri would be the real scam.

Gracie Antonio.

Horrible !!!
Aug 2020
We wanted to book 4 scooters for our family. The owner (or at least he looked like it) went crazy because my wife does not drive a scooter on a regular basis. He screamed and went nuts ! A real circus ! This guy is simply crazy and I should have looked at the comments before entering his dirty garage. Please pass your way, this business does not deserve your money. Finally, we booked with Oasi Motor, great service, nice people, good scooters. My wife drove carefully and we had a good time in Capri.

Unsafe scooters, Violent Staff Behavior
Aug 2019
Like other reviewers, I experienced not only the worst quality scooter that I’d ever driven (don’t be fooled by the nice, white scooters they park outside, “those are private”), but also violent, erratic behavior.

You will likely get a scooter that’s not only overpriced, but more (I don’t mind paying for quality), truly unsafe. The staff is rude at best, violent at worst. I’ve never experienced anything like that after 25 years of global travel. Bad energy here, folks.

Worst Scooter Rental Ever
Jun 2019 • Couples
The old 50cc scooter was a joke. It was Euro50 and we had it for 3 hours if that. It was difficult to start, electric start worked sometimes. The horn did not work, I mean the horn, what do Italians use all the the time ? The indicators did not work or the brake light. It was difficult to start. It would cut going down hills, which is what you do going up or down. We took it back but they said it was fine. By comparison we hired a 125 in Sorrento from Freeway for a day and it was Euro40 and was new. Try some else on the island if you want to rent a scooter.

Only way to see Capri
Jun 2019 • Couples
When you have only a day to see Capri, this is the only way to get around and avoid the expensive tourist trap , which the island can be. For only 15 euros an hr or 50 the day, we avoided the queues we saw at every bus stop and the expense of the taxis. And Capri roads are much quieter than on the mainland so it certainly wasn’t as hairy negotiating the crazy Italian traffic. We got to see Anacapri, marina piccola, blue grotto and Faro- thoroughly recommend Faro for a refreshing swim without having to pay to use an exclusive beach club - and the scooter parking was free there. The rental is well organised - we were told where the scooter parking can be found (only 60c an hr) and given an easy to follow, illustrated map which helped us find road junctions and parking. Beware - you can’t just pull up anywhere and hop off. Traffic police are strict on the parking regs so stick to official parking spots. And the views as you climb the mountain roads - just gorgeous!

Adequate
May 2019 • Couples
My wife and I rented a scooter which wasn't in the best condition but got us around the island. We paid 50 euros for the entire day and went all over the island. We were given a quick once over of the directions to different sights, where to park, and more importantly where not to park or drive. We were then given a quick once over of the scooter operations....Pay Attention!
I wouldn't say we were treated great, but we didn't experience any issues either.

Very different experience than most reviews
Sep 2018 • Couples
My girlfriend and I only had a little over a day on Capri, so we decided to rent a scooter so we could go where ever we wanted when we wanted. It was 100% the right decision. Capri is absolutely beautiful, but if you do not have long on the island, renting a scooter is worth it!

Our understanding is that Alfano has a couple of rental locations on the island, but we rented from the shop in Anacapri. Maybe the service is worse down at the shop located in the port, but our experience with Alfano was great. He was a little hard to understand at times, but I cannot fault him for that. He was very kind and even let us keep the scooter overnight because we did not rent it until mid to late in the afternoon.

As for the pricing, I have seen some reviews about being up-charged or having the fee change on them, but that was not the case for us. The hourly / daily cost was clearly stated on a poster behind the rental desk and when I signed the agreement, I had to initial next to the time that I was signing it out (no way of saying I rented the scooter earlier).

Based on the scooters that I saw in the shop, they all appear to be dated, but ours worked fine and we felt safe riding it. The scooter had more than enough power to get up steep hills with both of us on it (I am 6'4, my girlfriend is 5'10). Prior to renting the scooter, I had minimal experience driving them and no experience driving with two people, but as I said, we felt safe and it was very easy to pick up after 5-10 mins. Although the roads on Capri are narrow like the Amalfi coast, they are nowhere near as busy and drivers on Capri do not go anywhere near as fast, which is likely why we felt much more comfortable renting in Capri.

Terrible service!
Sep 2018 • Couples
From the moment we walked in the customer service was terrible and unprofessional. When inquiring about scooter rentals, the first question the woman behind the desk rudely asks, "Do you even know how to ride a scooter?" Who says that at first? How about Hello, Ciao, How can I help you? Nope, not this lady. We decided to rent scooter any ways due to short time on island. Next was the scooter, wow, what a POS. Plastic hanging off top, mixed colors, a real gem. Not only that, after riding it, it was the worst scooter I had ever rode before, (yes, to answer previous question, I do know how to ride a scooter. The steering was off, brakes squealing, and bike idling too high the whole time. Fortunately me and my wife made it safe, saw what we we wanted to see. Even upon returning the bike the male employee was rude. Yes we did get 5 euro off off rate for returning late, but that does not make up for the poor and rude customer service.

Great service/ family owned
Aug 2018 • Couples
We have used this place 3x and each time we got a solid bike at a good price. It’s family owned and they are all great and funny (earlobes, ask for him!) they are also very flexible with times and will work with you if you need to leave early or late depending on how busy they are. Highly recommend.

Never try to use this shop! Be careful !
Jul 2018 • Couples
I rent a scooter today. The scooter they gave us was a low-battery one. When we rested for more than 30 minutes and then we tried to start the engine again, it did not work. We had to use more than 5 minutes to make it work again by kick-starting way.

Then, we stopped the shop and complained about it. But they never tried to change the scooter. Moreover, they tried to complain about my driving license. We strongly argued. They easily gave up.

Finally, at the end of the use, they suddenly asserted that we had infringed traffic rules (entering a forbidden route by the scooter) and the police complained to the shop. We strongly argued and showed a receipt of the parking lot before the forbidden route. They easily gave up.

The things they tied to do are to steal additional money by using false information which is not easily checked by tourists.

Be careful and never try to use this shop!
