End October 2019 There are 2 types of buses for this tour company in Amalfi - the open, smaller bus goes to the places close by like Ravello and the closed bus is for longer trips like Sorrento and Positano. The ticket pricing is a bit hard to follow so I will explain it: E15 for 2 stops on way and an added E6 return if you went to both stops, but if you only did one, there is no additional charge. In my case I spent the day at Positano and returned so only E15. There is a different price for the short stops like Ravello for E5, Minori and Mairoi. . The roads are very windy on the way to Positano and it takes about 30mins depending on the amount of traffic. It stops at the top of Positano and you have to walk down into the city yourself and meet back there when you wish to leave but across the road on the beach side. They pick up every hour on the 25th minute roughly. The staff are pretty nice and I don't think the bus driver gets tipped very often as I was happy to arrive safely for both trips and gave him E5 on the way back and he almost cried. The bus gives you red headphones to plug in and you can hear bits of information plus nice relaxing music in between which you need. No need to buy tickets before, in fact they prefer you to buy them on the day. The buses seem quite new and are in excellent condition and the air-conditioning works in the hot weather - yay.

We got on at Sorrento rail station and did the complete journey staying on the bus then stopping at Termini. We had a cocktail and lovely lunch under the trees overlooking Capri. Had a couple of hours there and got back on the bus back to Sorrento. Audio guide on board in various languages.

Used these buses a few times and found them very efficient and cost effective. Our holiday reps wanted 118 Euros per person to visit Ravello via Positano and Amalfi, by using the Red bus our cost was 20 Euros each. We could get on and off and take in Positano or Amalfi and then return to the next bus for an extra cost of 6 Euros. Well worth the money. We also enjoyed the open top red bus riding around Sorrento, this was 12 Euros, the driver even stopped so we could take some photos of the amazing views.

We took the tour one way from Amalfi to Sorrento. €10 each which was far more than the €2.40 we had paid to get there by public bus but after a hot day walking around Amalfi and Positano we wanted to ensure we had air con and a seat for the way home. Good commentary although rather sparse. Enjoyed the amazing views and winding roads!

We purchased a ticket from the booth at the Train Station at Sorrento. We had to wait around for an hour as the next bus was full but this wasn't too much bother. The trip there was comfortable though the audio guide didn't really add much. On arrival at Positano we were able to reserve a seat for our return journey. The return coach was running late and we get the impression this is the norm and times drift throughout the day. Waiting at that stop in full sun wasn't the most fun. There was a Rep at the stop who kept us well informed. Having been on the road, though it's easy to see how this happens. Even the smallest little jam causes a big tailback. The queue for the SITA bus was huge and we were very pleased not to be on there.. All in all this seemed like the easiest and most reasonable way to travel from Sorrento to Positano.
