Built in the 1100's this cathedral is exquisite. The marble work alone is very pretty and that's not mentioning the dozens of frescoes painted on the ceiling. You must make sure to go downstairs to St Matthews crypt. The paintings beautifully display Christ's ministry. Don't...More

If you get a chance to visit Salerno make sure you visit the Duomo. The church has some beautiful artwork and architecture but the Crypt downstairs is amazing and beautiful.

This is a large and beauiful duomo. This duomo has a lovely There bell tower, mismatched columns from anicent Rome. amazing, gilded mosaics above the pulpits, and a giant crypt that is covered in marble and mosaics.

Pictures at the Crypt are amazing and worth seeing one by one. Sometimes they are funny too. And it's a wonderful quiet place to seat and think about what we are.

The Duomo in Salerno is absolutely Beautiful. When visiting the church don't miss the crypt of St Matthews! It was absolutely fantastic with beautiful painting in the ceiling and artwork in marble on the walls.

If you only visit one place in Salerno make it the Duomo! Go down into the crypt and you will be amazed at what you see,

In the heart of the old Town in Salerno. We visited twice whilst there and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Decoration in the Crypt. It was Breathtaking and a must for anyone visiting Salerno.

Took the train from Pompeii and ended up in Salerno. Nice city, we went for the dumo. Real nice church whit beautiful interior. Don’t miss the tomb, very nice decorated whit Jesus last trip.

If you visit go downstairs on your left and visit the crypt-it is absolutely stunning. Very spiritual and humbling place.

There is no entrance fee, and by the way don't forget to visit the crypt.
