Mt Dulang-Dulang can be accessed through Brgy Songco, Lantapan, Bukidnon. One has to coordinate with the locals beforehand. As part of their tradition, Datu Makapukaw will perform a ritual to ensure the safety of the climbers. The ritual costs P1,000 and another P800 for the 3 sacrificial chicken. Porter costs P600 per day. For expert climbers, you don't need a separate guide since one of the porters may act as a guide. But for beginners and amateurs, I recommend you hire an organizer as your guide.

There is a water source 5 hrs from the foot of the mountain, and another water source just few minutes from the first campsite near Many's garden. For more details and contact information, just message Lakwatsyero in Facebook. (fb/lakwatsyero)

Lastly, on the second day, make sure you start to ascend at least 1 hour before sunrise to witness the sea of clouds.

Reaching the top of Mt Dulang-dulang is equally tedious as Mt. kitanglad. They are just neighbor mountain. A matrer of 2 hours ride from Cagayan de Oro to reach Sumilao or Kisolon to start climbing the terrain of Mt.Dulang-dulang.

Mt Dulang-Dulang is better than the neighboring Mt Kitanglad in terms of scenery and difficulty. Our trek started at a certain village about 1km from the highway. After about 1 hour, we reached the foot of the mountain. From the foot up to the first campsite, it took us 7 hours including lunch break. We settled at the first campsite, wandered through the bonsai garden and rest. The next morning we continued ascending to the peak to witness sunrise. We passed by the second campsite which was located just near the summit. It took us about 30 mins from the first campsite to finally reach the summit.

The view was exhilarating. It simply cannot be described with words alone. One has to witness it firsthand. I am looking forward to climbing this mountain again.

A great experience hiking on the trails of Dulang Dulang, upon entering on this mountain a ritual must be done first by the tribespeople, price for the ritual is around 4000 pesos, it include a piece of cloth and a live chicken.

You must first coordinate with the local DENR/PASU if you want to hike on this mountain, which is the Philippines 2nd highest.
