The bullring looks like it was modelled on the coliseum in Rome. Next to the main station but very little you can actually see.

Lovely building. The traffic in the area, however, is extremely busy and noisy at all times of the day.
Situated between the Estació de Norte and the shopping street of Colón.

We walked through this plaza many times as it is central and on the way to many other areas. One of the big train stations is next door and there is a Metro station. The big bull ring is here.

One of the largest (108 meters in diameter) bullfighting arena meets you right at the exit from the North Station. Built in 1859, the building consists of four exterior galleries with arches topped with a stone balustrade. Architect Sebastian Monleon Esteles was inspired by the Roman classics - the Colosseum and the amphitheater in the French Nimes (where, by the way, bullfighting also takes place). The main event in the arena has always been, of course, bullfighting. However, during the civil war of 1936-1939, after the fall of the Republic, the Francoists staged a concentration camp in the arena, through which, according to various estimates, from 10 to 30 thousand people passed. Here, in the arena, the Francoists shot Republicans. The rest were sent to the permanent Albatera concentration camp. Bullfighting was returned to the arena by the Francoists in 1939. As the Romans used to say- Panem et circenses- bread and circuses. As a reminder of the danger of bullfighting, a monument to the Valencian torreador Manolo Montoliu, who was killed by a bull 3 years earlier, was opened near the main gate in 1992. However, not here, but in Seville. As you know, there is a movement in Spain to ban bullfighting, which has achieved a ban on bullfighting in Catalonia since 211. Given the cultural and political proximity of Valencia and Barcelona, it may happen that this arena will no longer be needed for what it was built for. Although in the Azores we witnessed bullfighting on the street. The Portuguese don't kill a bull. This is also an option for Valencia..

The Plaza de Toros, is the city’s oldest bullring. It is considered by many one of the most important event in Spain, where bullfights are regularly held up to this day.
It is an extremely ancient tradition in Valencia.

Plaza de Toros Valencia is a bull fighting ring in Russafa next to the train station. Inaugurated in 1859, it has been hosting bull fights ever since. This is a well maintained and most impressive structure.

Plaza De Toros De Valecia ( Placa De Bous De Valencia ) is the bullring of the city, an absolutely stunning building in the Russafa District of this most beautiful of Spanish city's.
Constructed between 1850-1859 in the wonderful Neoclassical style of architecture that's so pleasing on the eye,the building was actually inspired by the famous Roman Colosseum from designs from architect Sebastion Monleon Estelles ,the 384 arches are amazing ,it's most definitely one of the emblematic structures of Valencia ,very photogenic ,it's a building I highly recommend you check out if you're in the area and impossible to miss if you're walking down Calle Jativa.

Would never ever attend an actual event within, but the building can still be admired and lauded for its architectural achievements and attributes.

It has an incredible 384 arches throughout its expanse. With a grand style of Neo-Classicism it was completed and unveiled in 1859.

With seating for over 10,000 spectators it is one of the largest in the country.

I had previously visited the Bull Ring in Sevlile so saw no reason in porticular to see the inside of this one, although I guess like all such buildings each one is different and unique. No longer used for its original purpose, it sits proud and assuming in its own glory next to the main railway station.
