story of the town
Jul 2020
the bulls tells the story of the town. This statue symbolises the dangerous bullrun. The statue isn"t arty.

Bull Run
Mar 2020 • Solo
Larger than life ‘action’ sculpture depicting the famous running of the bulls. The details captured on both the animals and humans faces are most impressive. It is located along Avenida Roncesvalles just prior to the entrance of the bullring.

Bull run - walked
May 2019 • Couples
Missed seeing this monument but walked the bull run track with interest and no bulls. It’s a lot easier that way. You get time to take in the course and understand what the poor bulls and participants go through without the fear. It’s such a skinny track. You’d have to be crazy to run with the bulls. Apparently only the deaths on the run are reported and not those who die in hospital or elsewhere after the event.

Cool statue
Apr 2019
A very interesting statue paying homage to the well-known Running of the Bulls event. It was on a fairly quiet street in April, so it was easy to take photos of.

Worthwhile to see and admire!
Jul 2019
It's walking distance from Plaza de Toros, or from the Town Center or the from streets where the actual running of the bulls is. The statue beautifully depicts how it actually happened with the bull running and trying to gore the people. There are individuals that were down, and others look so scared and running with their life. It really worthwhile to see and admire how the artist interpreted the real happening!

Mixed feelings
Jun 2019 • Couples
Like many people Bull fighting doesn’t sit well with me but that doesn’t detract from the beauty of this statue. It is a couple of hundred metres away from the bull ring itself but definitely seek it out.

It is 11 m of bronze sculpture that sums up the entire emotional and chaotic events surrounding the running of the bulls itself.

Great Monument
Oct 2018 • Couples
Monumento al Encierro has to do with the running of the bulls. The time when the bulls are let free to run to their destination, chasing the young men who are running just in front of them. A great spectacle! The men, full of excitement, are running furiously, and in the process can just feel the breath of the animals right behind them. This is an amazing piece of art that captures so precisely a single moment in a day of immense excitement. A stunning bronze sculpture. Worth a visit, and you can take some unforgettable photos as well!
