The “Monument al Encierro” is a sculptural ensemble who consists of nineteen figures among them -six bulls, three halters and ten runners- immortalized in patinated bronze, which is representing the running of the bulls along the section of the “Rua Estafeta”. Weighing more than ten tons, it rests on a reinforced concrete platform covered with tile like the one that covers the floor of Avenida Carlos III. The sculptural project was carried out in two phases. The monument was first inaugurated on July 6, 1994, a few meters from Plaza de Toros, at the confluence of Roncesvalles and Carlos III avenues. Carlos III, between Praça das Merindades and Rua das Cortes de Navarra. Very interesting sculpture:

What a great piece of public art.
It’s worth the short walk from the old centre to check out the statue. Rub the bull’s horn for good luck.
It makes a great photo as a tourist.

What a great statue! The bulls look terrific, and the participants faces tell the story. If you walk across the Plaza de Castillo, you can see where the bulls run.
Fun side trip, indeed!

There are busses that run from different location in the city to get to the main center so no need to get accommodations right in the main center.

the bulls tells the story of the town. This statue symbolises the dangerous bullrun. The statue isn"t arty.

Larger than life ‘action’ sculpture depicting the famous running of the bulls. The details captured on both the animals and humans faces are most impressive. It is located along Avenida Roncesvalles just prior to the entrance of the bullring.

Missed seeing this monument but walked the bull run track with interest and no bulls. It’s a lot easier that way. You get time to take in the course and understand what the poor bulls and participants go through without the fear. It’s such a skinny track. You’d have to be crazy to run with the bulls. Apparently only the deaths on the run are reported and not those who die in hospital or elsewhere after the event.

A very interesting statue paying homage to the well-known Running of the Bulls event. It was on a fairly quiet street in April, so it was easy to take photos of.

Si no, no vas a ver nada.
Disfruta
