It is worth a look from the outside and spending a few minutes in the reasonable sized square in front of it, but apart from that there is not much to say

Spain is full of stunning square and this is far from that. Just a busy road junction. Not worth the visit.

This building has seen better days from the exterior and could do with a facade refurbishment. It is also located in one of the less attractive areas in what is a lovely city centre

Interesting to look at but it was closed when we were in Santander. There was a festival going on so there were all sorts of booths set up in the square out in front and flags strung across the square to the Ayuntamiento.

Surrounded by all sorts of shops, very crowdy and animated, it has a parking underneath. One cannot escape it if visiting Santander. And sometimes, you can ran into street shows, musicians or even awareness campaigns.

The Ayuntamiento building uses modernist architecture, which makes it interesting and it dominates the plaza in front of it. The architect was Julio Martínez-Zapata. The building was finished in 1907.

City Hall is an interesting building, but the real draw here is that the plaza in front of it seems to be the hub of the city and is great for sitting, people watching, hanging out. There is a statue of Franco on a horse...More
