Interesting museum with sections of wwii and soviet period. Museum managed by guards that still think they are in soviet period.

A really nice and very interesting museum about the history of Weimar. Although more English information would have been helpful, it is still full of interest. Deserves more recognition

This is a far bigger museum than i expected, absolutely full of interest, especially its extensive History of the Weimar Republic section, spread over a couple of floors. The audio guide was essential, and very useful. Easy to find yourself spending several hours here, there...More

It is a nice place for those who are looking for German history, Weimar republic and deep story of this town. It is on the way to goetheplatz and might take your time for 1-2 hours.

The only audio guide in English which was available was for the very thorough special exhibition about the Weimar republic on the top floor. The rest of the history is only in German and there is a lot of it. The photos are interesting.

This was an interesting wander, looking at what has gone on in Weimar in the past century. This little town has had a coloured history.

A €3 entrance, friendly staff. Be warned there are no translations for any of the materials. If you know the history of 1919 to 1933 it doesn't detract from the exhibits. The museum is on three floors with the lower floor to guest exhibitions, it...More

This museum is just great! They have an exhibition with pictures of Weimar after the war on at the moment they're just so shocking, but fantastic. But the best exhibition at the moment is "childhood behind fences" which shows how the childhoods of people were...More

A pretty nice museum with several floors concerning the history of this lovely small town. Much better than, say, Goethe's House, which is basically a boring experience where nothing is to be learned. I particularly enjoyed the fact attention is focused on passing information to...More
