We went here shortly before closing time so could see much of the church. But what we saw was quite monumental, intimidating even. The interior of the church is vast and - for a protestant church - rather extensively decorated. In it’s size and monumentalism...More

So much wonderful detail in this magnificent cathedral. The graceful carvings of the screen are outstanding as is the clock -study the eyes in the sun - they move every second. We met Herr Norkowoski again he is a volunteer guide and he helpfully pointed...More

Even from far away the towers of Lubeck Cathedral can be seen. Pointing towards the sky it is dominating the city.

We made a short visit to this large cathedral in the centre of old Lubeck. It is not the most impressive cathedral that we have entered, but is certainly worth visiting. There is a small entry charge of two euros. The building has a long...More

If you come in Lubeck you cannot do not stop and admire this big and beautiful cathedral. Inside there is a magnificent and big organ and listen to the music coming from it is an amazing experience.

This place is wonderful because of many things!! First, it is one of the oldest churches I have ever visited! The acoustics are amazing; I sang in the church while standing by the altar. Definitely worth a visit!!

Let me explain the title: A cathedral is always impressive by history, the large size of buildings and part f the city - and the church organ had live music (at the time) so the atmosphere was solemn - but ... The building is not...More
