Guided tours in the area of Danevirke is recommended. The wall was build in several historical periods. I 1864 the wall had a minor role for the danish defence. The fieldwork of 1864 has been maintained through a danish/german cooperation. You will have a good...More

Thorough and detailed history of events leading up to 1864 BUT only if you speak Danish or German. Lovely situation and a very pleasant restaurant next door!

The museum provides a nice overview of the attraction and after that, you can stroll around the fortification wall afterwards. There are some spots where you can still see the actual bricks. Was nominated for the World Cultural Heritage list.
