The Melanchthinhaus is not too far from the Markplatz. It’s quite attractive from the outside, at least to my taste, but right next to it is a contemporary building that displays Philipp Melanchthon life and works. It’s quite comprehensive. I saw lots of manuscripts, busts,...More

We visited Wittenberg purely for reformation history, Melanchthon being a significant part of this visit. Yet I was deeply disappointed and hope improvements will be made. The new renovations are very modern, which is stark contest to Lutherhaus next door. I didn't mind the funky...More

The House of another famous local. A friend of Luther. Professor and pioneer of modern education. Very informative display. 10€ entrance fee ( including Luthers house)

Melanchthonhaus is so close in proximity to Lutherhaus (and is discounted in price when combining admission) that there is no reason a church history fan shouldn't duck in here for a visit. It's not nearly as extensive or massive as Lutherhaus, but it does a...More

This is the house of Luther's good friend and colleague. Very interesting museum. It was set up more as a home than Luther's house. The admittance was in combination with Luther's house.

A very well laid out museum. We entered as part of the WelterBe Card (€19.50 from Tourist Information). I had not heard of Melanchthon (shame on me!) but learned a lot here. He was a great friend as supporter of Luther. The garden is also...More

This museum is really well done. There is a lot of information and it’s a nice opportunity to see the inside of the house if you’re interested in architecture. It would also be a wonderful place to visit with kids - there are interactive displays...More

This museum is very well done. It provides a great perspective of Martin Luther's contemporary who was a vital part of the reformation team. Simple displays but effective.

I wish I had a small child with me to share this museum. They had special activities for kids to do and find throughout the place. I learned so much about the reformation and even Martin Luther while here. I would like to read more...More

Philipp Melanchthon was Marin Luther’s most important colleague and friend. The two reformer found the Lutheranism.[ Melanchthon was a very important theologian and leader of the Protestant Reformation, but he is less known. Nice to know this great man. Inside the house, it is now...More

Perhaps outside Germany Melanchthonhaus is not that famous. This place teaches us a lot of the life of one of the minds of the Reformation.
