Stand in the middle of Dresden's Theaterplatz and admire the majestic Semper Opera House to the north, the Zwinger to the west, the Residenzschloss to the south and the Elbe River to the East. Named for the magnificent Semper Opera Theater, the cobblestone square has...More

The Theaterplatz, so named because of its glorious opera house, would look good in any city. Situated just off the waterfront, and bordered on the opposite side by the Zwinger Palace complex, it's a broad and beautiful urban space. The equestrian statue is of King...More

Between the Royale Palace and the Opera House, this plaza is worth taking time to visit. In addition to the historical buildings, there are plenty of places nearby to eat. The views of some of Dresden's most famous structures can be captured here.

It is worth just sitting here a few minutes and taking in the view and go camera snap happy. It’s just a beautiful place to admire even if you don’t have time or patience to go inside.

There are so many old and beautiful buildings to look at, and I thought it was a very special atmosphere. There is also a statue of one of the royal heirs.

Every direction you turn you see astounding architectural beauty. The Theatre is of course the highlight - Originally built in 1841, this hall was rebuilt by the original architect after a fire in 1869 and again renovated following the war damage. Nevertheless, the opera building,...More

It is a huge square by one side The Opera House, Zwinger and the other side ismthe beginning of Royal Palace. Lot of historical but of course reconstructed buildings because of WW II where you can take some nice photos.
