About
The "wondrous" aspect of this bridge that spans the Elbe is its construction. It is one of the first steel suspension bridges in the world requiring no supporting piers in the water.

Nice but not inspiring nor awesome. A bit overblown as a destination. Nice to see from afar and a once over to drive.

We went over the bridge many times to go to the tram and to go to Saxon Switzerland, to be fair we did not read about the history.

We saw this from the steam boat, with commentary from the guide. I'm not sure it's worth a special trip out to see it.

In an area where most bridges are made of stone or concrete the steel bridge is different. It has a nice walkway and easy to cross the river. Not really much to see except that the bridge is old and was not bombed during WW2.
