This is a place where obviously you get your connection trains, buses and trams to reach your destination. I have been through this place many times and found it quite pleasant.

The Dresden Cenral Railway Station shouldnt't be your main point of attraction when visiting Dresden, but it is a decent place to spend some time while waiting for your bus or train to leave. The architechture is beautiful and the station is easy to navigate. Prepare to pay for going to the toilet though; this seems to be a standard throughout Germany. There is an excellent restaurant called Marché located inside the station, with a generous and relatively cheap buffet with lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Definitely worth a visit!

yes, bus to other city also stopped here. we take a flixbus from dresden to munchen and we can choose where we want to board from. theres two option. one is in neustadt (old station) and the other is dresden central station.
not only flixbus, but DB Bus and blabla bus passengers also can depart from a small bus stop outside this station.
it has plenty of cafe and store (like sephora and sport equipment store which i forget the name) and beautiful train miniature.

Beautiful in its appearance from the outside, it blends well with other historical buildings in this city. The main hall has various coffee shops, bakeries etc. Information on the bombing of Dresden and the damage and restoration of this building are depicted on various walls. The station is across from tram stops, hotels and the main shopping centre. Lifts are available to the well signed platforms.

Dresden Central Station is older and somewhat difficult for seniors or people different-abled. We could not find an elevator or escalator, so had to schlep bags up and down stairs. There is a small inclined moving ramp that can take a bag, but the bag still must be lifted on & off. Also, the only toilets are pay-2-pee!

Dresden Central Station, also known as the Dresden Hauptbahnhof is the main stop in Dresden.
Easy to navigate. Platforms were well signposted. There were many steps to our platform, I do not recall seeing a lift or escalator.
Plenty of shops, cafes and snack places.

I arrived Dresden a bit late night, 11pm. Luckily there are some shops still open i.e. Burger King, Spar express. I got some bites for quick dinner. There is a big space that hold farmer market inside the building. It is really convenient for grasping some snacks before jumping on the train.
The station itself is very spacious and clean. Signboard is easy to catch and you won’t get loss to your platform. Also there are elevators for people with big luggage.

There are cafeterias inside too, and right next to the station are the low-cost bus stops whose ticket office is right across the road. The name of firm "FlixBus".

As it was our first time at the station and not speaking German we sought help on how to get to Hohenstein - Ernstthal, We were to catch the train from platform 13 and that we could pay on the train. We met two other people on the platform given identical the information, The train departed and thankfully the conductor came round not long after. The train was actually heading to Poland, didn't stop or even pass through our destination and you couldn't pay on the train.

The Central Station known also as the Dresden Hauptbahnhof is the largest of 2 large stations serving Dresden. the other, the Neustadt Station is actually closer to some of the hotels and main tourist sites in the center city.Check the map before deciding where to disembark or board. It was built in 1898 on the site of a previous station. It has a unique style in that the building sits in between 2 opposing rail lines that are on an upper level.
The graceful stone edifice is domed and its beautiful halls are covered with teflon coated glass.as a result of the station's latest renovation. The station received severe damage as the result of the bombings but service was already restored on 17 may 1945. Renovations to the building continued under the Communists right into the 21 century and were officially completed in 2006 for the 800 year anniversary of the city.
Entering this beautiful city by train through this welcoming building is a great introduction to Dresden. The Christmas Decorations in December also created a feeling of bygone times. An added joy for train lovers was a holiday model railway layout that could be turned on with a few coins.Stations like this are disappearing at an alarming rate and should be enjoyed while we have them.
