It was an incredible witness of the Roman empire in Trier. It is the only still standing basilica in the world. A really huge room where the Emperor hosted its guests.

The most complete Roman building I've seen. Gives a real insight into how impressive these Roman palaces must have been. Superb Roman brickwork that is 1700 years old... how many modern brick built structures will last that long?

This was interesting to see. We did not spend a great deal of time at this site. It is very close/with in walking distance to many of the other famous sites of the city.

The walls are those of the original Roman Basilica. The roof/ceiling and some of the church artwork are modern. The effect is stunning.
