Another pit stop on our AmaWaterways excursion. The Jesuits built St. Johannes der Taufer (St. John the Baptist) in the Jesuitenkirche plaza, downtown. A great exterior with echoes of the past surrounded by elegant buildings including City Hall. The interior is quite the contrast –...More

Beautiful architecture at the front door but unfortunately the inside looked like a community center.

The exterior is old and part of a beautiful complex which includes the City Hall , located in a busy Place . The interior is very modern in style and is very quiet and peaceful ! A big contrast !

This church was a pleasant surprise in the center of Koblenz. My wife and I stepped inside to tour it and it was a nice oasis of calm.

This church was in the midst of the Christmas markets. The exterior was more interesting than the interior but worth a visit.

Beautiful old church surrounded by pretty Christmas market vendor booths. The church had a life size carved wooden Nativity Scene in the manger so beautiful.

This is another lovely old church known nowadays as City Church but I much prefer St. Johannes der Taufer. It is a Jesuit Church standing in the corner of Jesuitenplatz. Although dating from the 13th century it's interior is quite modern.
