A completely different church from most other churches that I have seen elsewhere in Europe. The interior is almost Spartan in detail but this highlights the beautiful lead light windows and the fabulous organ pipes. It is a good place to sit for half an...More

Medieval parish church with a somewhat gruesome past, reflected in the 3 cages on the spire. Of particular note is the Tree Of Jesse over the entrance door.

This is a catholic church but the thing we noticed, is that both big churches in Münster are very plainly decorated for a catholic church. Definitely worth a visit, just very different form tne cathedrals and churches you usually see in Europe.

Many details are difficult to get if you don't have a guide. The story about the church, the religion and city internal fighting, the Dutch influence and the bitter end. A guided city tour does give some extra perspective.

While the interior of this church is not overwhelming, it is worth a visit. The exterior is glorious and there are some lovely features inside, too. Very high vaulted ceiling and an unusual organ.

Had a friend visiting from Ukraine and took him to the Church as part of a visit to Münster. The Church is an historic attraction with most of the building being accessible. Fantastic architecture.

Calm quiet welcoming place. in a lovely square of this very attractive city. But a gruesome history: there are three cages attached to the tower of the church above the clock. In these cages, the dead bodies of the leaders of the Anabaptist movement (Jan...More

Before visiting this site and Stadtmuseum one should read "Munster Rebellion" on Wikipedia. The story of the anabaptist rebellion of 1534-35 and the siege of Munster is a complex one. Bottom line, a bunch of religious zealots (the 16th century equivalent of ISIS in the...More

The St.Lamberts church has a nearly 700 years history. The most significant history is probably around the 3 steal cages which hang down one site of the Church. But to not take all the thrill, you should educate yourself about their existence ;-) It's also...More
