Interesting

Set in probably the nicest outside space in the area. Good walking trails in woodlands lead you to this interesting installation. Great views from the top, shame about the graffiti however.

A nice walk up the hill
Oct 2016 • Family
It's located in the southern part of Gelsenkirchen. It's a nice local spot to go for a wee walk or for biking. the trail also leads to Erzbahntrasse and Mechtenberg Reserve, a European Union certified bike track.

Great views and nice surroundings

In my opinion this is one of the best mine heaps in region. The location is ideal, very near the town centre of Wattenscheid (though the heap itself is in Gelsenkirchen, it is in the district of Leithe which is split between Gelsenkirchen, Wattenscheid and Essen), rather than being more isolated like many of them, so you have a better impression of the region as a whole as it is more in the middle and on clear days you can see for many miles. As well, on the side facing Gelsenkirchen, there is also the Sculpture Park, which is worth a visit. On the Wattenscheid there is the shafthead frame of shaft 3 of Zeche Holland, from which along with shaft 4 produced this mine heap.

Best for cycling and also to have view of Ruhrgebiet
Aug 2015 • Friends
It is 100 m high fr om the sea level. Here, you can come for cycling and to feel the wind. From the top of this hill, you can have a look of the Ruhrgebiet.
