I really enjoyed this museum more than I have anticipated. It was a surprisingly refreshing break from the many history and art museums that I have visited during my trip to Western Germany. This museum focused on the artistic aspect of functional design. It is...More

The Boiler house with the Zollverein houses this Museum. Make sure to visit this before visiting Ruhr Museum which will let you get a discount at Ruhr. This Museum will take mostly an hour or two of your time,

A lot of interesting things and designs. We missed explanation and info about use, materials, design process etc. The café (Butterzeit) did use ugly plastic forkes, knives, cup whitoutcare care for re-use, design and environment.

The museum is located on the premises of the Zeche Zollverein. It exhibits a variety of design classics. The industrial architecture surrounding the museum makes it a special place.

We visited the museum last summer, it was really cool. The exhibition was as interesting as the exhibition space itself!
