You can spend a few hours here. Lots of exhibits on the history World War 2. The lead up, the events, the ramifications. The exhibits are well done. Can spend several hours here. Down in the basement is an old SS prison. There are exhibits...More

Very good initiative to use this building to review the history of nazism, with emphasis in the victims and the city of Köln and what role the building played. Really interesting setting of the rooms to transport you to those years. Very good price, audioguide...More

You will not see this perspective anywhere else. We've all seen a million tours and newsreels about WWII, but to see it from inside headquarters is incomparable.

It’s a very important part of the German history and even though it was open very late, almost two decades after the World War ended, it is very well documented and informative. It’s not for the faint of hearts. Tip: DO rent the audio guide,...More

We spent hours here. Read some very moving inscriptions from prisoners, who were tortured and many were hung here too. A must to visit to appreciate the suffering of innocent people during and before the war. Very sad.

This is a really interesting museum. The top 2 floors cover in depth the history of the Nazi party, its rise both pre-war and during the war, the people affected and influenced in Cologne and what happened post war. All the display information is in...More

If you are in Cologne, it is vital that you visit the National Socialism Documentation Center. Based in the former Gestapo headquarters, you’ll see old prison cells and the courtyard where hundreds of executions took place. A very somber experience, yes, yet one that I...More

Could not hold my tears while walking around ever corner. Questioning the history and how it all unfolded to that moment... It's worth your visit.

If you have the museum card well worth a look. It is grim as the cells are laregly intact and inchanged from the war time. The bunker area is chilling. A short visit is all it needs but you must go.

I took a cab here from my hotel and walked to the cathedral area afterward because I wasn't quite sure how far it was.
