We were fortunate to have a tour guide no only share about the castle, but the surrounding market and town. Lots of history in this small town. The walk is a bit steep, with choice of stairs or cobblestone paths. Find the references around town...More

The castle is beautiful, the museum has some very interesting part but it´s not worth the visit in a sunny day unless you have a lot of time. Rather walk around in the garden and in the forest nearby. If it´s cold or raining spend...More

Visited the museum and the reformation exhibition. The castle is a great place but no cafe/restaurant. Beware the museum opens at 11am even though they sell tickets already at 10am. Great views and nice yard in the castle.

The Marburg Castle sits high above the beautiful, historic hilltop city with its half-timbered houses, cosy streets and thousands of steps. It is a reasonably short but steep walk from the town square but there is also a regular bus service, and if you don't...More

I studied in Marburg 1972-1973 and lived right by the castle. I visited it again in 2000 and again in 2017. It has an excellent and diverse museum inside. In fact, there is so much in the museum that it is very difficult to see...More

It's a fantastic place to enjoy a gorgeous view of the city of Marburg and it's surroundings. The castle is high above the city and it's a decent walk getting there.

It takes a while to walk up to the castle but "wow" when you get there. The tour is very good, Martin Luther lived here for a while. The view is spectacular.
