The storm had passed and the sun was shining.. and just sitting infront of the building.. watching people enjoy the Spring sun.. added to the appeal of the place. The Fountain gushing.. and pretty much a walk in the park to get there too with...More

The building itself is most impressive from outside and even more so when one enters the main hall. It was rebuilt in its old style, but using modern technichs, resulting in a super acoustics. It’s most certainly worth a visit.

I was here during the Luminale and the light show projected onto the facade of the Alte Oper was the best I have ever seen. It was very moving and despite the bitter cold I stayed to watch the whole thing. Well done.

Visited the theatre on Easter weekend for the rocky horror show. The building is extraordinary, every time you look you see more details. It's very clean and good seating plan.

The architecture is stunning and I love that the Germans have renovated but kept as much of the facade as possible.

Square in front is very nice. Skyline of city behind it and lovely old lights. Imposing building and a "real" opera house. Fantastic to see.

Hi John I see others have answered. I thought I saw some publicity about it while I was in Frankfurt. Sounds like it will be a wonderful few days. Have fun and safe travels.

Loraine, which concert are you going to? At least there is a "Abendkasse" which opens 1 hour before each concert where you can purchase last minute tickets. Should be possible to deposit already paid tickets there as well... More

Hi! If the concert is inside the opera, then I would definitely recommend wearing something chic. Not necessarily a tie, but a shirt and blazer will do! Hope I could help. Have fun at the concert!
