Visitors with tour guides only can view the museum - other than that.. there's no other way of getting in the musuem. The garden cafe and garden itself makes for an interesting 30 minutes of time spent..

From the Darmstadt Marktplatz there is little sign that the Schlossmuseum is open. The scaffolding suggests that the whole building is being worked on. We only realised when we visited the Porcelain Museum that the Schlossmuseum was in fact open but the entrance was at...More

The place is fully renovated and the excursions are held according to the schedule ( Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The exposition is great and the guides are kind and polite. Unfortunately you can't make pictures inside and there is no cafe to grab a bite...More

Considering the mediocrity of the palace, the tour was really far too long at nearly 90 minutes (and it is entirely in German). If you enjoy taking pictures, forget it. It is not allowed. (Seriously? Why?). You'll just spend forever in each room hearing a...More

This castle was built in several periods and it bears today also the mark of different architectural styles. You can visit some of the former state rooms. A very good collection of the past rulers.

The museum is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment but they are making every effort to remain open to at least some degree. All tours are guided and photography is not allowed as all the items are part of a private collection but the really are...More

This musuem generally only offers tours in german. The museum is very interesting and the tours are usually on a specific topic. All the articles in the museum belong to the Prince of Hesse so the museum has a personal feeling. The tours are unhurried...More
