You seldom have the opportunity to visit a submarine! A guided tour is a must, because you can see more rooms and learn about the hard work and life of the submarine crew.

There were no English your guides when we visited so we were left to our own devices. First thing to say is that its very cramped in there, and there are about 5 or 6 small circular bulkheads to step/crawl through. So, unless you regularly...More

Definitely one to avoid if you have poor mobility. Lots of steps and low hatches to get through. The boat is in a good and authentic condition but very little info appears to be available about the different areas and what stuff is inside apart...More

Nice experience worthwhile to experience. 90 meters walk down in the boat. They could have better control on how many people they send down in the boat. Queue can occur. Interpreter must be booked before you go to this museum. Not a suitable trip for...More

Entry was only 9 Euros. A fascinating experience. I was able to get there on the red hop on hop off bus route. When you alight the bus, turn right and it is just 100 metres down the street. The rest of the Fishmarkt area...More

For me, it's fascinating to tour something like this. I just try to wrap my mind around what it was like for the varying ranks of crewmen who served on it! On my next trip to Hamburg, I definitely want to go again. The only...More

The museum is a real cold war Soviet era submarine which actually served in the Soviet Navy. Now decommissioned, it sits near the Hamburg Fish Market and you can visit it and see the insides for yourself. Most of the original equipment including the torpedoes,...More

There are two ways to view this submarine either a do it yourself walk through or a guided tour which costs more and also shows a bit more.If you have difficulty getting through tight spaces this is probably not for you.

I went with a group of Austrian teenagers who all loved it. We had a tour in German which included the conning tower. I think non-German Speakers would get enough out of the tour to get the gist. Really good and worth it even if...More

Tour was only in German so went in myself for a look around. The leaflet was informative. Good to see inside and get an idea of what it was like. Was through it in 10 minutes but for €9 it was worth the trip
