Teufelsberg ('Devils mountain') is a hill (120,1m) in the Grunewald Forest in Berlin and is made out of debris of World War II. During cold war a listening post which was used by NSA and GCHQ was built on top of the hill. Since 2011 Teufelsberg can be visited daily during guided walks and tours.

What do you do with mysterious, abandoned NSA listening station built in a park where Hitler wanted to create a massive university? Let the creatives turn it into an ever changing street art museum, of course. One thing I loved so much about this place...More

I had read all of the reviews on here prior to our trip, and was a little sceptical as to whether I would be able to find it, even with google maps. We arrived at Grunewald station mid morning, and after a very moving visit...More

I've done a few too many city breaks recently, Berlin, Koppenhaggen, Stockholm all merging into one in my mind. So when a friend suggested I visit Teufelsberg, I was very glad to get out of the city and go for a walk in the woods....More

Made a reservation for a tour of Teufelsberg for Feb 16. Less than two hours before the tour, the operator sent an email saying the the tour guide was sick and that the tour would be canceled. Sickness is understandable, not having a backup tour...More

I walked here from the train which I quite enjoyed (thank you, Google maps!) but is a little tricky to navigate (there are paths but no signs so you've GOT to paying attention to your map!) - about 30min or more. 8euro to get in...More

Really sums up 'Berlin"! go here if street art and offbeat things attract you. you can easily spend half a day here. Make sure you go all the way to the top of the tower! Even better if you can blast some electronic music on...More

Located in a hill, walking about 15 min from train station, is a abandoned Cold War military base. Very interesting for who love the graffiti & street art

Located up a hill in a forest, 30min drive from Berlin. Don't try going on foot unless you have plenty of time on your hands and the right shoes. The woman at the entrance was quite rude to us as we were foreign. We didn't...More

Nice view of Berlin and kind a nice stop when visiting Berlin. Is a little far from the other tourist attractions, but it is worth it

Abandoned Cold War US military base is like worn out hell for war criminals. This is the place where you can image what it is like to spend eternity contemplating all the bad things you did during your lifetime. Luckily some hippies, hipsters and oddity...More

I'd be surprised if it is organised enough to have an office! It looks a lot more laid back than that! You pay in to the site, but the surrounding forest park is open to all.

The path up from the road is about 750m - not too steep but can be muddy and not kept that clear [at least in winter]. The site itself does not put a premium on safety but as long as someone is with him your friend should be... More
