This small, free museum was worth the effort to visit. It provides lots of tangible exhibits that illustrate life in East Berlin... Spoiler: It wasn't great. However, it showed the ingenuity of the people to make due in circumstances where there wasn't much freedom or...More

A small museum of East Germany life but with many interesting living things from that time and lovely pictures of old time portrait between 1960-1990s. Just very interesting to see there were 6-7 employees in a Monday during White Sunday national holiday. Very funny. I...More

Really enjoyed this museum and the artefacts from East Berlin at the time of the Wall. Shame the staff weren't particularly friendly and rather abrupt when entering the building, shouting at you to stop eating and to keep your kids quiet when you just enter...More

Great museum and it's free! some in German, some in English... lots of displays, objects and scenes many of which you can touch and explore. Open up the doors to see the videos ... the one I remember most vividly was of a guy who...More

I’m really glad I found this museum on TripAdvisor and decided to check it out. It was completely free, and had a great assortment of artifacts, written plaques, audio and video displays. It’s bigger than I had imagined, and I ended up spending over two...More

Spent afternoon at KulturBrauerei and on the way out, at the north end, found this small and interesting museum. Was close to the time they were closing but we saw enough to decide to return after the Easter holiday. Next week. Super interesting and thought...More

The Museum in der Kulturbrauerei has a single permanent exhibition, focusing on daily life in the former DDR (East Germany). Arranged in two galleries, one focuses mainly on work - including state sponsored awards for model workers - and the other on daily life, such...More

The one grand show was amazing. Difficult ordering tickets for disabled customers so discount not applied, but they were helpful when assistance was asked for on arrival. The show was breathtaking and Gaultiers costumes amazing.

Less busy than the DDR Museum so if you want a taste of East German life without the crowds then head here. It is free unlike the DDR Museum. Outside there were lots of pop-up food stalls but maybe that was because it was the...More

No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change
than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists
that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in
the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip
crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were
once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall,
there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have
been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays,
