The Soviet War Memorial is an impressive structure situated close to the Brandenburg Gate and is set in immaculately kept gardens, two Soviet tanks and other artillery hardware feature within its gardens. A wonderful place to spend time and reflect, a must if visiting Berlin.

The Soviet War Memorial is a towering structure. It is interesting to see how other countries design their war memorials. We were there on May Day, so there were many wreaths at the base of the memorial.

This is a well kept, impressive monument which is full of detail and information if you walk through the columns and go to the back and read the history on the boards situated there. The secluded garden with the fountain is a nice touch because...More

This is a huge structure near the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag Building. Our knowledge guide informed us that the monument is built in the rubble from Berlin.. Very imposing and well worth a photo or two.

Walking back from a play park in the tier Garten we came across this, it’s a very large and impressive structure flanked by two tanks and field guns. Not much more to say really.

Located in Treptower Park, this Soviet War Memorial is home to 5,000 soldiers who died in the Battle of Berlin. The iconic statue of a soldier carrying a child with a sword in hand standing on a broken swastika is impressive, great example of Soviet...More

So this isn't that we'll known of a site in Berlin. It's overshadowed by the victory colum and Brandenburg Gate of which it lies between. This is touching. They played a huge role in history and they shouldn't be forgotten. The memorial is beautiful and...More

We walked past on the way to victory column from Brandenburg gate. A reminder of an era, which Berlin was ay heart of in some aspects and still one can feel that when exploring.
