Easy to find with the underground system and in a striking Neo-gothic type building, this museum has, at the moment, an excellent, absorbing exhibition on Berlin in 1937, which is well recommended. It has information on how many aspects of daily life both public and...More

The exhibition describes with photographs and in words the mood in Berlin in 1937 and everyday life under the dictatorship of national socialists. Extremely interesting and well-organized exhibition. Highly recommended. Only available until February 25th 2018.

The exhibition, Berlin 1937, was so exciting that no time or effort was left for the rest of the museum. The exhibition tries to tell, what was the life like in Berlin 1937, Nazis in control but before war time (In the shadow of tomorrow)....More

There's a temporary exhibition now called Berlin 1937 that's interesting, a depiction of what ordinary life was like in the Nazi era just before the war. It's interesting and worth a visit. Unfortunately the main museum is very hit-or-miss. They have some beautiful objects like...More

Having visited many, many museums in five continents I have never experienced such rude and abrupt staff. From the moment of arrival the experience really wasn't comfortable. The ticket desk is badly signed and we were abruptly advised by the wardrobe assistant that it was...More

We only visited the exhibition 1937. I expexted more of it. But it was interesting enough. I don't think it's the best museum to visit in Berlin.

We went to the Märkisches Museum on the free first Wednesday of the month deal mainly because of publicity promoting the Berlin 1937 exhibition with ends on 18 January 2018. This is an excellent, comprehensive exhibition and English speakers could not be looked after better....More

This time there was a temporary exhibition - "Berlin 1937 in the shadow of tomorrow". A very good collection of unique, never-before displayed original objects, sound recordings and film demonstrates how the Nazi regime involves in the life of the people.

This museum doesn't appear to draw the crowds that go to the other bigger museums. It's a little away from them but the entrance fee is far less. We didn't realise until we were nearly at the end of our visit that the information boards...More
