The Bauhaus Archive in Berlin has the biggest collection of Bauhaus objects and documents in the world. The building was designed by Walter Gropius himself, it was built though by his scholars and opened in 1979. The architecture of the Archive is impressive and very...More

Although the Museum architecture by Gropius is nice the exhibition is tiny and the staff is abusive. This is a very disappointing experience and visitors generally leave the place in anger. The museum store has more bauhaus information than the exhibition! The staff is very...More

This is a very unusual building in the middle of the embassy district. An important institution in the history of architecture. I hope they get their exhibits back up and running. Worth a visit.

The museum closed for renovation last week, there is a new building going up, rather than turn everyone away, a fantastic lady who works there gave us a guided tour of the architecture of the building and new plans for the future. Well done, I'm...More

The Bauhaus Archive has been packed up in it’s entirety for relocation to a new building in approx 4 years. The ONLY EXHIBITION viewable is one about the Schools photographic course and its students. If you want to go to see ANYTHING else regarding the...More

No Bauhaus archive materials available as they are about to move to larger premises which is a shame because the building is stunning. The cafe is too small. The shop is cool. The website should have said what was going on to avoid the effort...More

It's fine. But only "fine". You will probably be disappointed in the size and scope of the collection. The Museum of Arts and Crafts (Kunstgewerbemuseum) by Potsdamer Platz should be your second stop if you want to see the Bauhaus movement put into the context...More

Large building houses quite small but perfect exposition of german design school Bauhaus. Large design shop and cafe inside. We expected more items on display and better bookshop but was nice to see some famous pieces in real.

Interesting concept of the museum but not as big exhibition as it was expected. Nice selection of Bauhaus small houses outside.

Did not inform visitors that their only exhibition was photography until March. The exhibition was marginally interesting - occupying the space around 5 times the sizes of their gift shop.
