few cities have such huge spaces without any buildings. berliners are luck that the old airport didn't just become a bunch of buildings, but a great space for barbecues and open air sports. the place also houses some temporary homes for refugee families.

Terrific tour of this fascinating and historic building. Our guide spoke impeccable English and had excellent knowledge way beyond any script. Really interesting, and a good way to spend two hours in this great city. Highly recommended.

I wandered the area on 2 days and just saw an abandoned rundown airport. I did not get inside so maybe a tour is a good thing.
