After being so impressed by the collection at Alte Nationalgalerie earlier in the day, this collection was slightly disappointing in comparison. A lot will depend on the style of paintings you prefer, of course, and I must declare a particular affection for Impressionist art. I...More

The richness of the collection is fantastic. So many famous painters: Brueghel, Rembrandt, Holbein, Carpaccio, Boticelli, Cranach, Rafaello, it is impossible to quote them all. This museum is far less crowded than the Pergamon museum.

This is a very nice collection of beautiful art from great masters (and some not as well known). It is organized very well. It's a large collection, but it is possible to see all of it in one visit.

Okay so this is 'yet another art gallery' I suppose - given that every major city in Europe has several. And Berlin is no exception. However, it does contain more than its fair share of 'old masters' - including Reubens, Rembrandt and the great Venetians...More

If your thing is artworks from the 13th to the 18th centuries, then this has to be one of the finest collections in the world. A very good audioguide accompanies your wanderings. Masterpieces abound, including works by Holbein, Durer, Cranach, van Eyck, Breughel, Rubens, van...More
