Definitely a must to see! The attention to detail was incredible. Highly recommend collecting a headset for free at the beginning. The information made the museum come to life.

When a newcomer walks across the bridge onto Berlin’s Museum Island, it can be truly overwhelming. One collasal museum after another. I was told to start with Neues Museum. It is easily found even though lots of construction going on. The cafe is small but...More

Impressive exhibits ranging from the bust of Nefertiti (no photographs allowed although I did note the wardens were somewhat lax about this) to the Berlin Golden Hat - a masterpiece of Bronze Age goldsmithing craftsmanship.

This museum is on four floors and 38k sq ft. We spent 4 hours here. Most of the displays have an english translation. Building was heavily damaged in WWII and they have an interesting approach to reconstruction. Don't listen to Rick Steves - the audio...More

The Neues Museum houses an impressive collection of historical artefacts dating back to before BC. The Egyptian gallery is particularly impressive with the highlight being the Queen Nefertiti bust. This is an eye-catching piece, although no photos are allowed. The other highly acclaimed item is...More

The first thing that impressed me was the spectacular stairway with triple hight ceiling. The name of this museum, literally “the new museum“ is a bit deceptive, but that’s because it was built much more recently than some of the other art museums on museum island (in the 1920s). The arts on display here date back from as far...More

We had heard that the architecture was inspiring but didn't know in what way. It turned out that not only had the old exterior structure been preserved but large parts of the interior in the form of raw brick walls and parts of the old...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
